Plenty To Look Forward To With Australia’s Latest Winner
The well-regarded Patrick Sarsfield (3c Australia - Ultra Appeal by Lawman) sauntered home in Tuesday’s Flat Rath Maiden at the Curragh, justifying favoritism by an easy four lengths.
Placed behind two talented horses in Madhmoon and Sydney Opera House as a juvenile, he was purchased by Joseph O’Brien in July for 230,000gns on behalf of current owner Mrs CC Regalado-Gonzalez. Second on his racecourse return three weeks ago, he once again raced over a mile, with Donnacha O’Brien riding him to chase the leader. Asserting after the two furlong marker, he went clear with minimum fuss as his rivals fought for placed honours.
Joseph O’Brien commented after the race, “We think he's a nice horse and with his rating he was entitled to win a race like that. He'll be a nice horse to look forward to next year and should stay further, being by Australia.”
Patrick Sarsfield was bred by China Horse Club, who owned three-time Group 1 winner Australia in partnership with Coolmore partners.
