Pollara (Camelot) winning the G3 Prix de Royaumont at Chantilly

Pollara wins Chantily G3 for Camelot

Lightly-raced Pollara (3f Camelot-Brooklyn’s Storm, by Storm Cat) added another big-race success for Camelot’s fabulous first crop when landing the G3 Prix de Royaumont at Chantilly on Sunday.

A winner at Saint-Cloud on her debut in April, she hit the front of this 1m 4f event in the final furlong and went on to win by a length and a quarter.

Trainer Francis Graffard holds Pollara, a 180,000gns yearling, in high regard and is considering a tilt at the G1 Irish Oaks.

“I’m very happy with that,” said Graffard. “I was a bit worried in the final stages because she didn’t have a clear run through. It’s an important win as she has a nice pedigree.

“She confirmed the quality she’d shown on her first two runs and she could now go for the G2 Prix de Malleret on July 1. Another possibility is for us to supplement her the G1 Irish Oaks at the Curragh on July 21."
