Progressive Australia Filly Gains Maiden Win

Dulcima (3f Australia - Boast, by Most Welcome) showed the benefit of experience when landing Tuesday’s Novice Stakes at Southwell in the colours of breeder Michael Smith.

Racing over a mile, the Karl Burke-trained filly was positioned towards the back of the field by Clifford Lee and began to make smooth headway approaching the two furlong marker. Ridden to lead a furlong later, she kept on well under pressure to win by a length and three quarters.

Owned by breeder Michael Smith with D Fitzpatrick, Dulcima is a half-sister to Listed winner and Group performer Strut (Danehill Dancer).
