Catena Zapata (Vadamos) Records His Second Win At Dundalk

Progressive Type Continues Fine Run For Vadamos

Catena Zapata (4g Vadamos - Pretty Priceless, by Pearl Of Love) continued a fine run for Grange Stud sire Vadamos when making a winning return to action at Dundalk on Friday evening.

Positioned in midfield by Billy Lee, Henry De Bromhead’s charge was switched right to challenge from two furlongs out and made good headway approaching the final furlong. Running on well close home, he won by a neck on the line, with another two and a half lengths back to the third horse.

Successful over course and distance at the end of his two-year-old career, the winner overcame a significant absence since August and is expected to improve from his latest success.

Purchased privately by OTI Racing after his maiden win, Catena Zapata was bred by Woodtown House Stud and hails from the first crop of Vadamos, which produced four winners last week, including a debut four-year-old winner at Tallow in Matata and a smart Stakes winner in Spycatcher.
