Promising Walk In The Park Gelding Gets Off The Mark

Thursday saw Walking On A Dream (6g Walk In The Park – Connaught Hall, by Un Desperado) gain a deserved win in the maiden hurdle at Ayr.

Runner-up in three point-to-points for Denis Murphy, the son of Walk In The Park filled the same position on rules debut for Lucinda Russell. The winner went on to place in a Grade 2 next time out, which saw Walking On A Dream sent off favourite to go one better under Derek Fox.

Racing prominently throughout, the bay was pushed along when challenged at the second last and was headed before the final flight. He dug deep under pressure to regain the lead on the run-in and stayed on to score by a length and three quarters.
