Rules Debutante Continues Impressive Run For Mahler
Mahler’s strong start to the season continued on Thursday when I’d Like To Know (5g Mahler - The Boys Don’t Know, by Flemensfirth) made an impressive rules debut at Worcester.
Purchased privately after a debut second at Dromahane for John Costello, the bay made his first start for Chris Gordon and the Jolly Farmers in the two and a half mile maiden hurdle. He raced prominently under Harry Cobden and led on the turn for home, with the favourite producing a strong challenge three from out. I’d Like To Know boasted a clear lead at the final flight and was ridden out to score by eight and a half lengths.
Bred by Robert McCarthy, I’d Like To Know continues an exciting start to the season proper by Mahler. The Beeches Stud stallion sired an impressive double two days prior, while The Big Dog (Mahler) made a winning return in the valuable Grade A Munster National. Encanto Bruno (Mahler) extended his unbeaten record in a Class 2 bumper at Cheltenham, where progressive chaser Found On (Mahler) completed a five-timer.
