Fortune Street (Soldier Of Fortune) Wins At Wexford

Smart Bumper Winner For Soldier Of Fortune

Monday saw the Paul Nolan-trained Fortune Street (Soldier Of Fortune - Thamara, by Street Cry) gain a well-deserved maiden win in the bumper at Wexford.

Placed twice previously, he was reunited with Barry O’Neill to chase the leader and led with six furlongs left to race in the two mile contest. Extending his advantage from the two furlong marker, he ran on well to win by six and a half lengths.

Paul Nolan gave some positive feedback after the race, saying, “That was the first time everything was right with him on the ground and with how the race was run. He got hampered one year in the Land Rover Bumper, wasn't beaten far in seventh, and had troubles afterwards but he wants soft ground. Barry [O'Neill] thinks he could be smart.”

Owned by Manverton Limited and bred by SARL Haras Du Logis Saint Germain, Fortune Street may now be aimed at a winners’ bumper.
