Smart Newcomer Becomes Latest Winner By Vadamos

Storm Catcher (3c Vadamos - Next Life, by Oasis Dream) produced a game performance to make a winning debut in Friday’s seven furlong maiden at Kempton.

One of just two newcomers to line up for the race, the bay was positioned in midfield by David Probert, who was forced to bide his time until a gap appeared in the straight. Making good headway approaching the final furlong, he ran on strongly to deny the short-priced favourite by half a length on the line.

Trained by Simon Pearce for Nigel Hanger and Eric Jones, Storm Catcher was bred by Andreas Putsch. He hails from the promising first crop of Grange Stud recruit Vadamos, which also includes Group 3 Acomb Stakes second Spycatcher and Stakes performer Messidor.
