Jack Hyde (Soldier Of Fortune) Impresses At Newcastle

Soldier Of Fortune Gelding Wins Bumper Unchallenged

Jack Hyde (5g Soldier Of Fortune - Ballinahow Tara, by Kayf Tara) was not for catching as he ran out a 15 length winner of Tuesday’s bumper at Newcastle.

The Soldier Of Fortune gelding joined Thomas Gallagher’s yard after finishing a close third in a four-year-old maiden at Portrush for Robert Moloney and shaped with promise on rules debut in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham. Well-supported to build on that effort on Tuesday, the bay was ridden to make all by owner John Reddington and boasted a clear advantage from halfway. Asked to quicken from over two furlongs out, he kept on well to win by 15 lengths, unchallenged.

Bred by Noel McLoughlin, Jack Hyde becomes the first winner out of his dam Ballinahow Tara.
