Son Of Australia Impresses With Back To Back Wins
Galileo Chrome (3c Australia - Curious Mind, by Dansili) made it two from two this season when running out an impressive winner of the Leopardstown Members Race on Friday.
Fifth on his sole start as a two-year-old, the Joseph O’Brien-trained colt made a successful three-year-old return in a Curragh maiden last month and remained over the ten furlong trip on Friday. Sent off favourite under Shane Crosse, he raced prominently before asserting from halfway and was travelling well with an extended advantage over two furlongs out. Ridden clear approaching the final furlong, he won by six lengths with ease.
Joseph O’Brien, who celebrated a four-timer on the card, later said, “We're delighted with him. His maiden form has worked out really well. He's a big horse and we're taking baby steps. He'll probably step into Listed or Group company next. He could go for a race at Irish Champions Weekend.”
Galileo Chrome was bred by Mohamed Ali Meddeb out of a winning half-sister to St Leger third Michelangelo (Galileo) and Chester Cup victor No Heretic (Galileo).
