Barretta (Australia) Makes An Impressive Debut At Navan

Son Of Australia Proves Far Too Good On Debut

Barretta (3g Australia - Secrete Marina, by Mujadil) could hardly have been more impressive on debut when racing clear of his rivals in Saturday’s mile maiden at Navan.

The Ger Lyons-trained bay was one of 14 to line up for the contest and raced in midfield for much of the way under Colin Keane. Pushed along from three furlongs out, he was ridden to lead approaching the final furlong and ran on to score by five and a half lengths, eased down.

Bred by Coolmore, the son of Australia is owned by David Spratt, Sean Jones and Mrs Lynne Lyons.
