Musical Slave (Getaway) Wins At The Punchestown Festival

Son Of Getaway Completes Hat-Trick At Punchestown

A trip to the Punchestown Festival saw Musical Slave (6g Getaway - Inghwung, by Kayf Tara) land the Adare Manor Opportunity Series Final and in turn, completed a hat-trick of wins.

Wednesday marked a step up in class and in distance to two miles and five furlongs, as well as the bay teaming up with a new partner in Jonjo O’Neill Junior. Positioned midfield of 24 runners, the bay began to improve from four out and raced into fourth at the final flight. Leading soon after, he ran on well to beat Conron by a length and a quarter.

Winning trainer Philip Hobbs commented after the race, “I'm delighted. He stayed on very well. I was a bit concerned that the lack of pace might not be in our favour but in the end he kept going very well.”

Owned by JP McManus, Musical Slave was bred by Simon Walford out of three-time winner Inghwung.
