Son Of Gleneagles Gains Maiden Win In Comfortable Fashion

The promising Red Kite (3g Gleneagles - Vive Les Rouges, by Acclamation) gained a deserved success in Tuesday’s mile maiden at Brighton.

A close fourth on his first two starts, Charlie and Mark Johnston’s charge was last seen finishing second and was sent off second favourite on Tuesday. Chasing the favourite under Franny Norton, he was ridden to lead approaching the final furlong and despite showing signs of inexperience, went on to win by two and a half lengths.

There should be more to come from Red Kite, who is owned by Kingsley Park 22 and was bred by Liam Phelan.
