Whymper (Maxios) Wins The Listed Prix Miror at Auteuil

Son Of Maxios An Easy Listed Winner At Auteuil

Saturday saw Whymper (4g Maxios - Wurfspiel, by Lomitas) gain his second black-type win, and first over hurdles, in the Listed Prix Miror at Auteuil.

Trained by Hector De Lageneste and Guillaume Macaire, the son of Maxios won a Listed chase in November and was last seen finishing third in a Grade 3 chase at Compiegne. Regular rider Baptiste Le Clerc oozed confidence in the straight as the leaders came under pressure and waited until the run-in to make his move, his mount needing little encouragement to lead close home. The winning margin of a length and a quarter belies the easy nature of Whymper’s victory.

Whymper is owned by Ecurie Hugo and Pierre Pilarski, Palmyr Racing and Jeannot Andt. He was bred by Gestut Fahrhof, who also bred Maxios’s dual Grade 1 winner Quilixios.
