Quilixios (Maxios) Wins The 3YO Hurdle At Down Royal

Son Of Maxios Extends Unbeaten Record In Style

Saturday saw the exciting Quilixios (3g Maxios - Quilita, by Lomitas) make it three from three when winning the Metcollect Three-Year-Old Hurdle at Down Royal.

An impressive winner of his sole start for Francois Nicolle in March, the son of Maxios lived up to expectations on his first start for Gordon Elliott and Cheveley Park Stud earlier this month, so it was no surprise to see him sent off favourite at the weekend. Jack Kennedy rode the bay to make all and with a perfect round of jumping, success never looked in doubt, as he strode 20 lengths clear of his rivals.

Elliott was as impressed as anyone by the winner and later commented, “He couldn't have done that any easier, it was a canter around for him. He's so laid-back about it.”

The Leopardstown Christmas Festival is next on the agenda for Quilixios, who was bred by Gestut Fahrhof out of their black-type homebred Quilita.
