Son Of Saxon Warrior Justifies Favouritism On Second Start
The promising Barefoot Warrior (3g Saxon Warrior – Barefoot Contessa, by Dansili) backed up last month’s debut third with an authoritative victory at Thirsk on Saturday.
David O’Meara’s charge was sent off the even-money favourite as he stepped up to a mile on his second start. Racing in touch with the leaders, he was pushed along two furlongs from home and kept on well under Danny Tudhope to score by a length and a quarter.
The Elwick Stud homebred is out of Barefoot Contessa, whose No Nay Never colt sold for €200,000 last September.
