An Mhi (Walk In The Park) Wins The Maiden Hurdle At Ballinrobe

Son Of Walk In The Park Eases Clear On Return

An Mhi (6g Walk In The Park - Bay Pearl, by Broadway Flyer) made a smart return to action when running out an easy winner of Monday’s maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe.

Sent off favourite under Keith Donoghue, Gordon Elliott’s charge raced prominently throughout the two mile and six furlong contest and was travelling best of the field with one hurdle left to jump. Easing clear from the final flight, the son of Walk In The Park led by seven lengths on the line.

“It's nice to get his head in front,” Elliott said after the race. “He was second in a point-to-point so we knew he'd stay and he handled the ground well.”

As well as finishing second in a point-to-point, An Mhi previously claimed runners-up honours in two maiden hurdles. Bred by Aaron Metcalfe, the son of Walk In The Park is owned by Pioneer Racing, CB Woods and Christopher Donnelly.
