Nas Na Riogh (Walk in the Park) Wins The Maiden Hurdle At Tipperary

Son Of Walk In The Park Makes All In Maiden Hurdle

Nas Na Riogh (6g Walk In The Park – Babygotback, by Amilynx) returned at Tipperary on Tuesday to gain a deserved first win under rules for Henry de Bromhead.

The son of Walk In The Park sold for £120,000 after winning a five-year-old maiden for John Josephy Murphy and had since placed over hurdles on three occasions. He was sent off favourite for Tuesday’s maiden hurdle over two and a half miles, with Rachael Blackmore riding the bay to make all. Quickening from two out, he was pushed clear on the run-in and kept on to beat Brave Fortune (Soldier Of Fortune) by three and a quarter lengths.

Representing the winning stable, Robbie Power said, “Nas Na Riogh had some good runs in the winter and we were hoping the better ground would help him. That'll probably be it for the year and chasing will be his job.”

Bred by Andrew Magnier, Nas Na Riogh is owned by Charlie, Mark and Cathal Doocey.
