Whiskeywealth (Yeats) Wins His Maiden Hurdle At Clonmel

Son Of Yeats Confirms Promise In Maiden Hurdle

Whiskeywealth (5g Yeats - Quiet Thought, by Bob Back) delivered on previous promise when taking Thursday’s two mile maiden hurdle at Clonmel.

Sent off second favourite under Phillip Enright, the Eoghan O’Grady-traimed bay raced prominently throughout and was pushed along approaching the second last. Keeping on well on the run-in, he scored by a length, with another nine lengths back to the third.

Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “Whiskeywealth should have won at Limerick and he was entitled to do that. Limerick at Christmas is probably the next stop.”

Owned by Eamonn Hickey and Ger Finn, Whiskeywealth was bred by Ms C Corrigan and Tom Conway.
