Son Of Yeats Delivers Over Hurdles

The Amy Murphy-trained Logan Rocks (4g Yeats - Countess Comet, by Medicean) built on the promise he had shown in bumpers to make a winning start over hurdles at Huntingdon on Friday.

Placed in three bumpers as a three-year-old, he was last seen finishing fourth in a Listed contest at Newbury. With regular rider Jack Quinlan back on board, he was ridden prominently and chased the leader from three out, asserting at the second last. Pushed out, he ran on to score by four and a half lengths.

Speaking after the race, Quinlan commented, “ Logan Rocks showed some high class form in bumpers last year and when he came in, Amy and I could not believe how much he had improved. He's a fun horse for winter.”

Owned by the Rann Family, Logan Rocks was bred by Mill Farm Stud. He is the first foal out of the mare, a winner on the flat and over hurdles, and a half-sister to multiple Group winner Air Pilot.
