Cobblers Dream (Yeats) Wins The Bumper At Cork

Son Of Yeats Makes Perfect Start In Cork Bumper

Success never looked in doubt for Cobblers Dream (5g Yeats - Miss Parkington, by Bob Back) at Cork on Monday, when the Sean Aherne-trained gelding recorded a straightforward win on his first start under rules.

Racing in midfield under James Hannon, the son of Yeats began to make headway from halfway and led with ease after the three furlong pole. Going clear approaching the final furlong, he comfortably registered a winning margin of four lengths.

The win came as no surprise to Aherne, who said, “That was a lovely effort. We haven't him too long but had him in a schooling bumper at Boulta and was fairly impressive in it and that was fairly impressive there.” On future plans, he added, “The main objective is to sell him now and he is a lovely horse to jump. He does things lovely and has a great attitude.”

Owned by David O’Connell, Cobblers Dream becomes the first winner bred by Christopher Maye out of Miss Parkington.
