Right You Are (So You Think) winning the Australian Cup Prelude at Flemington

Stakes Double for So You Think

Talented stayer Right You Are (6g So You Think x Leica Ding, by Redding) won five races in succession before being beaten by highly rated import White Marlin in the Group III MRC Easter Cup, but he bounced back when stepped up in trip to win the $300,000 Listed Mornington Cup (2400m) on Saturday.

Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Right You Are has had to overcome a serious soft tissue injury and his success ins a credit to the whole team.

He engaged in a stirring battle with runner-up Hezashocker, but did best on the line to win by a head taking his overall record to 10 wins and seven placings from 22 starts with prizemoney topping $900,000.

The victory earned Right You Are a ballot exemption for the Caulfield Cup.

"He was a rehab horse, he had a soft tissue injury, so he's taken a lot of nursing over a long time," Maher and Eustace's assistant trainer Jack Turnbull said.

"You hear it a lot, but the team has managed him really well. It's been a slow procedure, but he's been ultra consistent. You look at his form and how he's progressed, it's just wonderful.

"I think he's been up since October, so he's a marvel. He loves racing, he loves being in the stable and he's well-loved by the staff and he's a happy horse.

"Hopefully he can remain sound. I would imagine he goes for a well-earned break and we can aim for the spring."

Right You are was retained to race by his breeders and is the best of two winners from Group III Geelong Cup winner Leica Ding, who is by Victoria Derby winner Redding from the famed Leica family with champion filly Leica Show his fifth dam

Right You Are made it a stakes double on the day for So You Think, who also sired progressive filly Street Gossip (3f So You Think x Wahng Wah by Casino Prince) to win the Listed BRC Princess Stakes, while at Mornington his three year-old colt Lethal Thoughts (3c So You Think x St Remy, by Star Witness) won the $150,000 Mornington Guineas for the Racing League’s Vic Husslers Syndicate.
