Earl Of Tyrone (Australia) Sells For 300,000Gns at the Tattersalls Hit Sale

Talented Stayer By Australia Fetches 300,000gns At Tattersalls

Earl Of Tyrone (4g Australia - Affirmative, by Pivotal) will be targeted at Australia’s major staying races after being knocked down to Ronald Rauscher and Australian Bloodstock for 300,000gns at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale.

The son of Australia completed an impressive hat-trick this season, culminating in black-type success, before finishing a fine third in the prestigious Ebor Handicap. Trained by Paddy Twomey for owner/breeder Robert Moran, he boasted a career-high rating of 106.

His next trainer is yet to be confirmed, according to Rauscher, who added, “I know where he’s come from and who’s trained him very well and he’s an obvious one for us. Actually I thought there might be a little more action on him so I’m not unhappy given where we landed at the end of the day. He’s a very nice horse, very correct and well looked after.”
