Three Echoes First Winner for Echo Town
Only hours after seeing one of his first crop runners place third in Italy, Echo Town registered his first winner when Three Echoes (2f Echo Town x Bayou Miss, by Dixie Union) won a Churchill Maiden Special Weight.
Making her debut going five furlongs on the dirt, Three Echoes spent the first part of the race stalking the leader when sitting just over a length behind. Pushed through a hole at the rail in the final furlong by Keith Asmussen, she showed her boldness while staying inside to won by three quarters of a length with the third placed runner three lengths back.
A $130,000 OBS March Sale of 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale purchase by racing owner L and N Racing, she is trained by Steve Asmussen, who also trained her sire.
The Vossfield Bloodstock bred is one of five winners out of two-time winning mare Bayou Miss. That mare is also the dam of Uncle Mo’s five-time winner Cry Uncle, whose Practical Joke juvenile sold for $475,00 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale this week. Bayou Miss’s Practical Joke son Graphic Detail also finished fourth in a stakes as well.
Three Echoes’ granddam is the stakes winning Jaramar Rain, who produced three stakes performers among her eight winners and who is the granddam of the stakes winning Oxymore.
Echo Town is now the sire of four runners with three of them finishing in the top three in three different countries.
