Tiz The Law Filly Wins In Ireland

Tiz The Law registered another winner – this time in Ireland – on Tuesday when Medici Venus (2f Tiz The Law x Fully Living, by Unbridled’s Song) won for Aidan O’Brien.

Stretching to a mile for the first time in her career at Listowel, the filly flew out of the gate to race in a battle for the lead soon after the break. Another horse was determined to get the lead and Medici Venus let that one go ahead when racing just about a length behind in a clear second.

Ryan Moore started pushing the filly as they entered the final three furlongs and Medici Venus started to roll. It was clear it was going to be a determined victory when Medici Venus slipped to third before surging back for the lead.

Medici Venus dug even deeper near the line to win by a nose just 14 days after finishing second by the same distance for the Coolmore partners.

Bred by Ashview Farm and Old Oak Farm in Kentucky, the filly was purchased by Coolmore for $550,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale last year from Ashview’s consignment.

Medici Venus is a half-sister to Grade III winner Ballet Dancing and to the Grade II-placed Untreated, who was also fourth in a Grade I. Their stakes placed dam Fully Living is a half-sister to Grade III winner Abeliefinthislivin and out of a half-sister to champion Halfbridled.

Medici Venus is the second winner in three days for Tiz The Law from the family of Halfbridled alongside Lawof Sines.

Tiz The Law has now had winners in four different countries, including the stakes winning duo of Out On Bail and Tiztastic.
