Tiz The Law’s Book’em Wins at Churchill
Tiz The Law registered another winner on Thursday night at Churchill Downs when Book’em (2f Tiz The Law x Flummoxed, by Outwork) won in her second start.
Second to a Mendelssohn filly at Churchill on debut, the filly made her return in a six-furlong dirt race during a night card. Second out of the gate, she quickly made her way to the front and controlled the pace from there. By the time they hit the stretch, she was rolling and she pulled away when pushed for more by Jose Ortiz.
She showed why she went off as a heavy favorite while pulling away to win by 4 ½ lengths with the third placed runner over nine lengths adrift of her as well.
The Dixiana Farms-bred is trained by Bret Calhoun for Kat Kirk and Wayne Sanders out of Uncle Mo granddaughter Flummoxed. That mare is a half-sister to Grade I winner Discreet Lover and two other winners out of Discreet Chat.
Each of Flummoxed’s first six dams have produced stakes performers with her granddam producing three stakes winners and four stakes performers overall.
This was the fifth winner in a week for Tiz The Law, who saw those winners come in three different countries on dirt and turf.
