Two exciting winners for Getaway

The Dan Skelton-trained Hear No Evil (5g Getaway-Listening, by King's Theatre) initiated an across-the-cards double when scoring on his hurdling debut at Aintree on Saturday. The €150,000 store purchase, bred by Mary McCann, won the 2m 4f novices’ hurdle by five lengths under the trainer’s brother Harry.

“Hear No Evil is a big, strong horse and going to be better next year, but it's nice to get one on the board and he jumps nicely and has a good attitude,” said the winning trainer.

Later at Naas, Lady Ischia (5m Getaway-Summer Flight, by General Assembly) won a bumper by seven and a half lengths (pictured) for trainer Gavin Cromwell, who holds her in very high regard. “Lady Ischia will come on from that run and she jumps brilliant. She won't hang around in bumpers too long but she's entitled to have a go at a Listed bumper, I think she's very good,” said Cromwell. Lady Ischia was bred by R Bryan.
