Stella Di Camelot (Camelot) winning the Pebbles Stakes at Belmont Park

US Stakes-Winner for Camelot

Stella di Camelot (3f Camelot x Star Force, by Blu Air Force) made a winning US debut at Belmont when taking out the $200,000 Pebbles Stakes on Saturday.

Previously trained in France where she had won two races and gained Black Type in Italy, Stella di Camelot was having her first run for new trainer Chad Brown and scored a stylish two and three-quarter length win in the one mile turf contest.

"The filly ran super first time in the country,” said Brown. “She had been training really well so I'm not surprised she ran this good. She's quite a nice prospect. She's got a good turn of foot in the morning and she showed it today.”

Stella di Camelot is the first winner for Star Force, a half-sister to Group II winner Blu Constellation from the family of Champion Irish 3YO Oratorio.

She is the 11th stakes-winner for Epsom Derby winning sire Camelot.
