Piper Park (Walk In The Park) Sells For £205,000 at Cheltenham

Walk In The Park Mare Leads The Way At £205,000

Piper Park (4f Walk In The Park - Shannon Theatre, by King's Theatre) became Walk In The Park’s second sales topper of the week when bringing £205,000 at the Tattersalls Cheltenham November Sale.

Tom Lacey supplied the winning bid for Harley Dunne’s debut winner, who returned a fine profit on her store sale price of €58,000. “I was hopeful she’d make that as she’s a beautiful filly,” Dunne later commented. She was well entitled to make that but you just don’t know when you come here. She was going down well so I was hopeful she’d get to that kind of money, but you never know until you get into the ring.”

Walk In The Park’s former studmate Milan supplied the second highest-priced lot on the night, in the shape of Colin Bowe’s smart newcomer Honky Tonk Highway (Milan). The half-sister to recent maiden winner Moon Over Mexico (Soldier Of Fortune) was knocked down to Ryan Mahon and Dan Skelton for £165,000.

Flemensfirth, Getaway and Westerner each supplied six-figure lots on the night.
