Amablis (Maxios) winning her maiden at Hannover

Well Bred Fillies Complete Double For Maxios

Amabilis (3f Maxios – Akua’da, by Shamardal) completed the first leg of a double for Maxios on Thursday’s card at Hannover when taking the mile maiden.

Making her second start, the Dominik Moser-trained filly raced close to the pace and quickened on the turn for home, running on strongly to win by three and a half lengths, with another five and a half lengths back to the third horse.

A Gestut Brummerhof homebred, Amabilis is out of German 1,000 Guineas winner Akua’da.

The following race on the card, a three-year-old fillies maiden over ten furlongs, saw Annika (3f Maxios – Alandia, by Alderflug) gain her first win for Waldemar Hickst and owner/breeder Gestut Ittlingen.

She, too, was making her second start, and after racing in midfield for much of the way, was asked to challenge from the two furlong pole and ran on to win by a length.

The daughter of Maxios is out of Alandia, a half-sister to Group 1 Prix du Cadran victor Altano (Galileo) and Group 1 performer Araldo (High Chaparral).
