Well Timed Classic success for Holy Roman

Fabulous Holy Roman Emperor enjoyed his second European Classic winner of 2018 when Well Timed (3f Holy Roman Emperor-Wells Present, by Cadeaux Genereux) prevailed in Sunday’s German Oaks.

The Stall Ullmann home-bred was sent off favourite for the 160th running of the Preis der Diana at Dusseldorf and she shook off Night Of England to win by a length and three-quarters. The Champs Elysees filly Wonder Of Lips (3f Champs Elysees-Wunderblume, by Lomitas) came third.

Trained by Jean-Pierre Carvalho, the exciting filly had won the G2 Diana Trial at Hoppegarten on her previous run.

Well Timed was following in the steps of Holy Roman’s 2018 G1 Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Romanised (3c Holy Roman Emperor-Romantic Venture, by Indian Ridge) in bringing Classic victory for their sire.
