Yeats on top at Tatts
A €62,000 first-crop son of the great Yeats topped the first session of Tattersalls Ireland’s November Sale at Fairyhouse on Monday.
The half-brother to Irish National winner Butler’s Cabin and Graded winners Jaamid and Heezapistol was much in demand when appearing from Mill House Stud. John O’Byrne eventually saw off Merrick Francis for the yearling.
“He is a very good looking horse from the first crop of a brilliant racehorse. The dam has already done very well and there was just a lot to like about him. We were pleased to get him,” O’Byrne told EBN.
Yeats’ first crop have made a big impression and among his other sale-ring stars this year have been a colt who made €100,000 at Tattersalls Ireland in February and a colt from one of Meon Valley Stud who was bought for 100,000gns by Charlie Liverton at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.
