Zoffany Colt Delivers On Debut Promise
Canagat (2c Zoffany - Caskelena, by Galileo) followed up on a promising debut to win the Future Stayers Maiden Stakes at Kempton on Monday.
Trained by Archie Watson for owner/breeder Nurlan Bizakov of Hesmonds Stud, the chestnut finished a close third at the first attempt last month. Once again racing over seven furlongs, he switched right to challenge at the two furlong pole and was ridden to lead approaching the final furlong. Running on well, he won by half a length, with the same distance back to the favourite Establish (Australia) in third.
Canagat becomes the second winner out of the Galileo mare Caskelena, herself a full-sister to Ascot Gold Cup runner-up Age Of Aquarius and a half-sister to Prix Jean Prat victor Turtle Bowl.
