G2 novice chase win for Flemensfirth’s Waiting Patiently

Waiting Patiently (6g Flemensfirth-Rossavon, by Beneficial) brought more graded race success for Flemensfirth on Saturday with a polished success at Haydock. The lightly-raced six-year-old maintained his unbeaten record over fences as he saw off the well-touted Politologue to take the G2 Star Sports Novices’ Chase. Trainer Malcolm Jefferson believes there is better to come from the classy Flemensfirth gelding, who was bred by Vincent Finn. “We expected him to run well. We think a lot of him, he’s a nice horse and that’s only his third run over fences. He’s a young horse who should go places,” said Jefferson. “He likes soft ground and we hope he’ll improve with another year on him. He’ll be entered in the G1 Arkle Chase and the G1 JLT Chase at Cheltenham but he would want it soft to go there. He’s a really nice horse and still a baby.”
