J P McManus’s Slowmotion (5m Soldier Of Fortune-Second Emotion, by Medaaly), already a G2 winner over hurdles, added a G3 over fences to her impressive record at Fairyhouse on Monday.
The Joseph O’Brien-trained mare came home two and three-quarter lengths clear of her rivals to win the G3 John & Chich Fowler Memorial Chase under Mark Walsh. Slowmotion won a G2 juvenile hurdle at the same fixture last year.
“She’s a tough mare, she’s getting better and Mark gave her a great ride,” said O’Brien. “She’s won a Grade 2 over hurdles and is a Grade 3 winner over fences now.
“It’s nice that she’s won today. She was late going chasing as she initially started over hurdles. She won this day last year as well in the juvenile race. She’s a good mare and there is plenty of fun to be had with her.”
