In-form Scorpion had his third impressive bumper winner in a week when Gigginstown House Stud’s Drunken Counsel (5g Scorpion-Kilbarry Demon, by Bob´s Return) scored at Clonmel on Thursday.
Trained by Gordon Elliott and partnered by Nina Carberry, the five-year-old coasted home four lengths clear of his rivals.
Elliott was delighted with Carberry’s ride and told irishracing.com: “She’s different class and the win is really down to her. The ride she gave him was a bit special.”
Drunken Counsel, who was bred by Con O’Keeffe, was winning a week after Knocklayde Express (5m Scorpion-Aupora, by Bob Back) triumphed for Stuart Crawford at Ayr while the Paul Nicholls-trained Great Try (5g Scorpion-Cherry Pie, by Dolpour) won by nine lengths on his debut on Monday.
