$225,000 Weanling Kicks off Keeneland For Classic Empire
Classic Empire’s first weanling to sell at Keeneland's November Breeding Stock Sale on Wednesday was well received when bringing $225,000 from de Meric Stables as Hip 107.
The Penn Sales-consigned colt was bred by John R. Penn and is out of the winning mare Super Divine who has one to race.
Super Divine is a half-sister to track record setting stakes winner and stakes producer Indian Way and two other stakes winners. The young Super Divine is from a stakes producing family with two stakes winners producing stakes winning runners.
A Champion 2-year-old and Grade I winner at 2 and 3, Classic Empire’s weanlings have proven to be popular with his only offering at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Fall Sale bringing $135,000.
