$250,000 Colt Kicks Off Keeneland November Session for Classic Empire
Classic Empire has proven to be an in-demand sire at this year’s Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale with Hip 694 selling for $250,000 to Hunter Valley Farm early in the third session.
Consigned by Hill ‘n’ Dale as agent for breeder George Ruggiero, the March-born colt is out of Grade III winner Le Mi Geaux and a grandson of stakes winning Message Red. The chestnut colt’s family also includes his dam’s stakes placed full brother Yari and granddam’s stakes winning and Grade II-placed half-sister Lady Samuri.
A Champion at 2 and Grade I winner at three, Classic Empire’s outstanding first weanlings have been in high demand this breeding sale season.
