$350,000 Colt Leads Justify’s Fasig-Tipton October Monday Offerings
Blue Heaven Farm’s Justify colt brought the second highest price on Monday’s session of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale when purchased by John Fort for $350,000.
Offered as Hip 21, the Blue Heaven Farm homebred is a half-brother to multiple stakes winner Heartwood and stakes-placed Luzmimi Princess and out of the multiple stakes winner Maple Forest.
Maple Forest is one of two stakes winners for stakes winner and Grade II-placed Maple Syrple alongside the Group III winner Golden Century.
"He's a special horse,” Blue Heaven Farm’s Adam Corndorf told Blood-Horse. “We haven't been in this business too long, but it's nice to start seeing our third-generation horses. Maple Forest, being our first homebred stakes winner, she won several stakes with Todd Pletcher. A wonderful mare for us, she's sold several nice sales yearlings, and a couple of them have already earned some black type, so hopefully, this one will as well."
Justify’s first yearlings are averaging $393,106 with a median of $337,500. Twenty-two of his yearling offerings have brought $500,000 or more with the first weanling from his second crop selling for $1,223,337 over the summer.
