$350,000 for Tale of the Cat Filly at Barretts
The top priced filly at the Barretts Select Two Year Old Sale on Monday was by evergreen sire Tale of the Cat and fetched $350,000.
Consigned for sale by Sequel Bloodstock, the star filly was bought by Emmanuel de Seroux’s Narvick International on behalf of Katsumi Yoshida of Japan and was a successful pinhook having been bought initially for just $75,000 at Keeneland September last year.
“She is very athletic,” de Seroux said of the filly, who breezed a furlong in a bullet 9 4/5 seconds.
“She went fast, she looked sound and she has an excellent temperament. We like her very much.”
The filly is from unraced Jill’s Gem, a Mineshaft daughter of stakes-winner Wilzada.
