$400,000 Filly Leads Justify Charge At Fasig-Tipton
Triple Crown winner Justify’s filly out of Lastofthesummerwine set the ring alight only 30 hips into the Fasig-Tipton November Sale Sunday night when bringing $400,000 from Breeze Easy.
One of the most expensive weanlings of the sale, the Four Star Sales-consigned filly is a half-sister to stakes winners Conquest Panthera, Happy Like a Fool, and Hawaiian Noises in addition to Grade II-placed Maniacal from five to race out of her dam.
Bred by Magnolia Bloodstock and Lynch Bages, the filly’s dam is a half-sister to Song Warrior and stakes-placed Yessiremychickadee with her page also including Grade I winners Nine Keys and Silver Voice among others.
The filly was also joined by a $300,000 colt out of Grade II winner and Grade I-placed Well Monied offered by Hunter Valley Farm.
Purchased by Clear Creek Stables, the gray Newstead Corp-bred’s dam is one of four stakes winners for Queen of America alongside Grade III winner and Grade I-placed Economic Model and stakes winners Jimmy Simms and Your Love. Queen of America is also a half-sister to stakes winner Talented and out of stakes winning Our Dear Ruth.
Justify’s weanlings to sell on Sunday night were his first ever to sell in North America. The only undefeated Triple Crown winner ever, Justify sees 11 more weanlings on offer over the next three days at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
