$425,000 Colt Leads Justify Trio at OBS March
Registering the highest average of any freshman sire at the OBS March Two-Year-Olds In Training Sale this week, Justify saw two of his juveniles sell for $400,000 or more from three on offer.
Oracle Bloodstock signed for the highest Justify offering of the sale – a $425,000 colt - on behalf of Rosedown Racing Stables.
Offered by Parrish Farms, the colt is out of the Grade II winning Tapit mare Dancinginherdreams. That mare comes from a family of producers with her dam producing three stakes performers and three of Dancinginherdreams’ sisters producing stakes performers.
Japanese owners have already been stocking up on first foals by the undefeated Triple Crown winner over the last two years and this sale with no different with Katsumi Yoshida buying Justify’s two others on offer.
The first, offered by Niall Brennan Stables was a :10.0 breezer last week and sold to Yoshida for $400,000 during the second session.
Named Prince of Justice, he is a half-brother to four winners out of the multiple stakes winning Haddie Be Good. That mare’s group is led by stakes winning Story to Tell and the 10-time winning Good Samurai. Haddie Be Good is also one of two stakes performers out of Haddie.
Prince of Justify has stakes form throughout his pedigree with all three dams on the page having blacktype in their production record, led by Grade I winners Sam’s Sister, Sweet Talker, Include Me Out, and Check the Label among others.
Katsumi also purchased Justify’s son of Runway Doll for $250,000 during the first session.
Justify’s trio averaged $358,333, over $50,000 more than the second highest average of any freshman sire. Buyers will have four more chances to buy Justify juveniles in Florida later this month with four entered in the Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale.
