$450,000 for Uncle Mo Filly
Demand for the progeny of Champion 2YO Uncle Mo hit a new high during the second session of the 2014 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale with three more youngsters selling for $450,000, $375,000 and $310,000.
Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales had a big result when their Uncle Mo filly from Erica’s Melody was purchased by Glen Hill Farm for $450,000.
The star filly is a half-sister to stakes-placed Jasmine’s Melody and is from a half-sister to stakes-winners Reno Rumble and Beg Borrow N Steal.
The top colt at this sale for Uncle Mo was a cracking bay from stakes-placed Southern Charmer that made $375,000 for Five Oak Farm when knocked down to Ice Wine stable and Aisling Duignan.
Not far behind the filly from Therese that fetched $310,000 for Four Star Sales when purchased by Fox Hill Farm.
Standing at a fee of $35,000 in 2012 when these yearlings were conceived, Uncle Mo finished the sale with nine yearlings averaging an impressive $240,222 offering breeders a sensational return on investment.
