$550,000 Filly For Munnings at Keeneland September

Maverick and Siena teamed up on Thursday to buy a $550,000 Munnings filly from the Paramount Sales consignment during the second Book of the Keeneland September Sale on Thursday.

The filly bred by John Trumbulovic is the second foal out of the Medaglia d’Oro daughter Invigor. That mare is a half-sister to both multiple stakes winner Modern and stakes winner City Plan from her dam’s four to race.

The filly’s A.P. Indy granddam Interior Design is a full sister to Champion 2-Year-Old Filly Tempera, Group III winner and Group I-placed Equerry and stakes winner Ecole d’Art.

This is a proven cross with Munnings, who also produced Grade III winner and 10-time winner Barkley and stakes winning Perfect Munnings among his 17 winners from 18 runners out of Medaglia d’Oro mares.

Munnings has seen all but one of his yearlings sold bring six figures, led by offerings sold for $550,000, $280,000, $225,000, $200,000, etc.

A sire on fire, Munnings is among the leading stallions in 2021 with 33 stakes performers and 14 graded stakes winners.
