$575,000 Colt Leads Uncle Mo’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Tuesday Offerings

The sire of the first session topper, Uncle Mo returned on Tuesday at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale with a $575,000 colt purchased by Donato Lanni as agent for SF Bloodstock, Starlight, and Madaket.

Offered by Taylor Made, the colt is a half-brother to Grade II-placed Hozier and to the placed juvenile filly Eivissa. The trio are out of Grade II winner Merry Meadow, who is also a half-sister to stakes-placed Blithely and the dam of stakes-placed O’Paddy.

The March-born colt’s granddam is a half-sister to Grade I winner Diazo and stakes winner Mort with four of the colt’s third dam’s daughters producing stakes performers.

Uncle Mo was also the sire of a $525,000 filly in the second session with that filly sold for Mayberry Farm.

Named Anacortes and consigned by Gainesway, the filly is a half-sister to Grade III winner Ocean Knight and Grade II-placed Nero. They are all out of a half-sister to stakes winner Libby’s Halo.

Uncle Mo’s other yearlings at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale included the $1.6 million first session topper, a $700,000 filly selling on Monday, a $525,000 colt on Monday, and a $435,000 filly on Tuesday.

In all, Uncle Mo’s 10 sold averaged $542,000 with a median of $480,000 for a gross of $5.42 million.
