$600,000 Colt Kicks Off OBS April for Justify

Only one colt was more expensive than Justify’s $600,000 colt at the opening OBS Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds In Training session when Gary Young purchased him as agent for Zedan Racing Stable.

Justify’s colt out of Unbound consigned by Hidden Brook was the session topper for the first half of the session. The colt showed his natural talent when breezing in :10.0 during the breeze show the week before the sale.

Bred by Bonne Chance Farm and going through the ring for the first time, the colt is out of the stakes-placed Unbound. That mare is also a full sister to the stakes-placed Mary Rita and a granddaughter of the great mare Personal Ensign.

Those under Personal Ensign include her Breeders’ Cup winning daughter and granddaughter My Flag and Storm Flag Flying and Grade I winners Miner’s Mark, Traditionally, Mr. Speaker, Seeking the Soul, etc.

Just like they were as weanlings and yearlings, undefeated Triple Crown winner Justify has seen his first juveniles sell for up to $1.1 million with an average of $416,411.
