$600,000 Colt Leads Way for Justify in Book 3

Book 3 saw another in-demand yearling for undefeated Triple Crown winner Justify when Pin Oak Stud went to $600,000 to secure a colt from Mt. Brilliant Farm.

The third most expensive offering of the sixth session, the colt is a half-brother to champion Downtown Leo and is out of the Galileo mare Durga Devi. That mare is a half-sister to Grade I winner Wrote with the duo out of Green Desert mare Desert Classic. This family also includes Group I winner She’s Happy and French champion and legendary sire Nureyev among others.

Book 2 also saw Baoma Corp purchase a Justify colt from Hinkle Farms for $300,000.

The colt is another out of a Galileo mare with that mare out of the multiple Grade I winning Sea Siren. Sea Siren also produced this summer’s dual Group I winning Warm Heart by Galileo with her juvenile son by the stallion also winning after the catalog was released. Among Sea Siren’s four winners is also the Group III placed Celestial Object.

The Justify x Galileo cross is quickly proving to be an important one with the four stakes performers hailing from it including top 2-year-old and Group II winner City of Troy, Group III winner Red Riding Hood, and stakes winner Unless.
