$750,000 Colt Leads Justify’s Offerings Early At OBS

The early sessions of the OBS Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds In Training saw juveniles by Justify in demand with his colt out of Iadorakid the second most expensive of the second session.

Purchased by Mick Wallace for Gandharvi Stable for $750,000, the colt was offered by Paul Sharp as agent. Bred by Jason Hall and BCS Thoroughbreds, the colt was making his first appearance in the sales ring in Ocala.

"We have been waiting for him to come through today; he's a horse that took the eye," Wallace told Blood-Horse. "Both physically in his breeze show and on the end of the shank, everything about him appealed to us. We have some familiarity with Justify. He was a colt we were keen to acquire, and we had to pay for him a little bit, but that's the way things go."

He is a half-brother to five-time winner King Nate and out of the Canadian champion and Grade I winner El Tormenta and Grade III winner Zero Tolerance. This is also the family of Uncle Mo’s multiple stakes winner Galilean and multiple Grade III winner His Race to Win.

A Justify half-brother to multiple Grade I winner Lady Aurelia sold for $400,000 to Jay Em Ess Stable at the OBS Sale on Monday.

The colt is the final foal out of Puerto Rican Horse of the Year D’Wildcat Speed, who also produced stakes placed Titletown Five and is one of three stakes performers for her on Puerto Rican champion dam.

Bred by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings, the colt was making his second trip through the ring when consigned by Navas Equine.

Justify’s four Northern Hemisphere foaled graded stakes winners this year is the best of any Northern Hemisphere second crop sires with his nine cumulative graded stakes performers the best of the group as well.
