$80,000 Filly Keeps Momentum Rolling for Cupid
A filly by Cupid represented her sire well during the sixth season of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale on Monday when bringing $80,000.
Bred by V. Gail Ray and consigned by Vinery Sales, the bay filly was purchased by Steve Weston with Liz Crow as agent. She is out of the winning City Zip mare Coup de Main, a half-sister to stakes winner and track record setter Alsono and stakes winner Gig Harbor.
The filly’s third dam is U.S. Grade III winner and French stakes placed Daloma, who set a new course record at Santa Anita.
Cupid’s first crop of weanlings at Keeneland November is led by a $130,000 weanling with seven weanlings selling at this sale. The stunning millionaire by Tapit won five stakes races in his career, led by the Grade I Gold Cup at Santa Anita Stakes and the Grade II Rebel Stakes, where he won in a faster time than a group that includes American Pharoah and Curlin.
