$900,000 Colt for Uncle Mo
Leading sire Uncle Mo has been in strong demand at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling Sale with 26 yearlings averaging $449,423 in Book 1 highlighted by an outstanding colt from Gloomy I’m Knot that made $900,000 during the third session.
Consigned by Van Meter Gentry Sales, the star colt is a half-brother to stakes-winner Fusaichi Red and was bought by a partnership of Robert LaPenta’s Whitehorse Stables and Bridlewood Farm.
The colt was an impressive pinhooking success for Renee Dailey, who purchased the bay as part of a pinhooking partnership for $450,000 at last year’s Keeneland November sale.
“We are ecstatic about that sale,” Dailey said. “He was very mature and balanced as a weanling and he was an exceptional mover. He has stayed exactly as he was, but he’s just grown bigger and he’s stronger. He’s did everything right from the day that we had him. He just grew into what we hoped for when you spend that much on a pinhook.”
Uncle Mo had many great results including $750,000 for a filly from Esprit de Vie, $750,000 for a colt from Not in Jest and $725,000 for a colt from Succeeding.
